I’m a natural-born righty (seriously, my left hand was about as useless as a dead fish before I started working on it) who learned ambidexterity. And by that, I don’t mean I can just barely get by with my left hand — I can actually use my left hand for essential tasks. I can eat, drink, brush my teeth, give high fives, pet my cats — I can do everything with my left hand. I can even write comfortably with both hands. Yes, I’m serious — in high school and college, I regularly switched between my hands while taking exams that required a lot of writing, and there was no visible drop-off in quality. And obviously, during my playing career, this ambidexterity helped separate me as a ball handler. Keep reading below to learn how I gained this ability and how you can, too.
